WHY I CHOSE TO BE AN INDEPENEDENT FINANCIAL ADVISOR

THE FIDUCIARY STANDARD

Independent Financial Advisors often work as a fiduciary for their clients. Simply put, it requires the Financial Advisor to always keep the best interests of their clients in mind. In fact, they are legally required to put their client’s interest first – and always act accordingly.

ADVICE YOU CAN TRUST

Independent advisors are not bound to any one product. Being independent offers the freedom and flexibility to offer the best products for our clients. We are not obligated to use a specific fund family, investment product or service. Our mission is to identify which investment products are best for you through a thorough “discovery” process.

BETTER CLIENT/CUSTOMER SERVICE

Independent advisors typically provide a higher, more complete level of customer service. After all, independent advisors are business owners, because of this, we value our client relationship and hold ourselves accountable to our clients. In the end, when you do better, we do better.

COST TRANSPARENCY

Often, independent advisors are more cost-effective. In addition, we typically operate on a fee-based compensation model. A Fee based pricing model is easy to understand, incentivizes growing a client’s assets, and best of all – doesn’t generate individual commissions/transaction costs for each trade. Since we aren’t charging commissions for each trade, when we make changes, they are in your best interest.

THOROUGH AND WIDE-RANGING EXPERTISE

Independent advisors often wear many hats. While we typically focus on wealth management and financial planning, we also can assist clients with estate planning, complicated tax situations, charitable giving, and transferring wealth to heirs. We prefer to see our clients “whole” financial plan and look at the big picture. We take the time to listen, and truly understand our clients’ goals. With this approach, we develop a strategy that is tailored to our individual clients, not some “cookie-cutter” plan.

CONNECT WITH ME

If you don’t have a plan in place, give me a call to learn more. In addition, if you would like a fresh perspective on your investments or financial plan– I am happy to help. Remember, the industry is changing, and fees are also changing. If you haven’t compared advisory fees lately, feel free to reach out for a complimentary fee analysis. Just like with health care, a second opinion is often wise.

After nearly a decade working for large financial institutions, I opened Feehan Wealth Management. Now a Financial Advisor and business owner of Feehan Wealth Management, I take pride in running a firm that puts you first. Before entering the financial services industry, I graduated from Full Sail University with a Bachelor of Science degree. After college I commissioned as an Officer in the United States Army and served 8.5 years in the Army & Florida National Guard. I am involved with local Veterans groups and was a Battery Commander for the 3-265th Air Defense Artillery Battalion. Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife Janelle and young son Carson. We like staying fit together as a family, and Carson loves when I take him running in his jogging stroller (as if I didn’t get enough running in the Army ha-ha). We also love to travel and explore different cultures. Janelle and I have been to many countries together, and this is something we hope to share one day with Carson.
